The New Inquiry is pleased to announce the re-launch of Bail Bloc, a desktop application that uses computer processing power to get people out of ICE detention.
Read our past work on policing and mass incarceration here.
In November 2017, Bail Bloc launched in partnership with the Bronx Freedom Fund, and for the following year mined cryptocurrency to pay bail for people detained in the Bronx and Queens. Beginning in November 2018, Bail Bloc will be mining cryptocurrency for the Immigrant Bail Fund, which pays bond for people in ICE detention across Connecticut. The New Inquiry will match in dollars the amount of Monero mined by users between November 15 and December 15, 2018.
To donate your computer's processing power, download Bail Bloc for Windows or macOS.
