Yollotl Gómez Alvarado

Yollotl Gómez Alvarado (Ciudad de México 1989) is a visual artist, editor, director, cinematographer, and organizer. While studying in Mexico City, Yollotl Alvarado cofounded the collective Cooperativa Cráter Invertido, a network of artists and activists involved in publishing, education, political, and artistic research. In the past years, his work has focused on linking geological phenomena such as the volcanic activity of Popocatepetl to social movements and political events, asking questions such as, “How can we change the climate in order to change society?” His work, collective and individual, has been shown in places such as the Venice Bienniale, Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo, Gwangju Biennale, Milan Film Festival, and International Film Festival Rotterdam, among others.
