Over the course of two months in Italy, artist Alex Auriema facilitated the making of fake luxury goods. Auriema enlisted help from members of the Senegalese community in Naples. Together they used ordinary, found materials and single sewing machine to design unique copies of branded bags. They then attempted to sell them on the streets of Naples. The production of false fakes gets cast as a contradiction, unfolding a set of questions about legislation, rights, and protection measures, pointing back at an economic logic that refuses to differentiate between products and human beings.
