Jasper Bernes Poetry Reading: Sunday, January 20

Jasper Bernes is a poet and author whose work on Occupy has appeared in The New Inquiry. He has published three books of poetry: Starsdown (2007), Desequencer (2009) and We are Nothing and So Can You (2012). Jasper also writes communist theory. He is currently vying for a seat in front of the House of Un-American Activities by contributing a slew of fiery pinko tracts to such journals as: Communization and its Discontents, The New Inquiry, and The Los Angeles Review of Books.

Guy Debord once claimed that: "One of the tasks of the revolution is to federate poetic 'soviets.'" You can judge for yourself whether or not Debord was drunk when he wrote this directive by making your way over to Human Relations Bookstore on January 20th at 7:30 pm to hear Jasper read some of his poems. The store is located at 1067 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, between Vandevoort and Knickerbocker. The closest subway stop is the L train to Morgan Ave.

We hope to see you there.
