Peer Illner

Peer Illner is a sociologist and political theorist. He is currently a Fellow of the University of Copenhagen, where he co-directs the research project The Avant-Garde after the Avant-Garde. His research interests include catastrophes and crises; political economy; disaster capitalism; and 20th century urbanism, art and architecture. His first monograph, Disasters and Social Reproduction, was published in 2021 with Pluto Press and he recently published and edited a collection on critiques of work called Unworking with August Verlag. Before he held his current position, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research Centre “Normative Orders” at Goethe University, Frankfurt. He holds an MA from Goldsmiths, University of London and is a frequent Lecturer at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.
